A landmine is a pivot that anchors one end of a barbell to the floor or a rack, so the other end moves in an arc. It turns a regular barbell into a tool for shoulder-friendly presses, rows, rotations and squats.
You need a barbell and plates; the landmine itself can be a floor-plate unit, a rack attachment or simply the bar end wedged in a corner wrapped in a towel. Start with the empty bar — lifting the free end of a 20 kg bar feels like roughly 10 kg — and add small plates gradually.
Secure the base so it cannot slide, keep people clear of the bar’s arc, and protect your walls and floor if you use a DIY corner setup.
